Dining
Philadelphia may be known as the City of Brotherly Love, but it’s also a city that knows how to serve up great food. There have been many firsts in Philadelphia and if you’re looking for unique food, you’ve come to the right place. Stromboli (similar to a calzone) is one of those foods that was created in Philadelphia, as was cheesesteak – a think ribeye with cheese and onions served on a bun and the hoagie (sort of like a submarine sandwich). If you’re looking for something lighter, you might want a soft pretzel or an ide – choose from Italian, Irish or Polish.
As with any city that boasts many distinct neighborhoods, you’ll find a great array of smaller eateries in those areas. For example, South Philly is filled with pizza places owned by Italian immigrants and other ethnic food restaurants.
There are plenty of restaurant options in Philadelphia and even those who live in the area would be hard pressed to get around to them all.
